"Pat" is the second child and son of Robert Wallace Kilpatrick and Edith Marian SPENCE. He had an older sister Neva.

In the early 1900's Aldine, TX was very quiet, rural area located approximately 15 miles north of Houston. The family was dirt poor and as a boy Pat hunted and set traps to catch the family dinner.

When he was around 20, Pat took a job with Banker's Life and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. About one year later he moved back to Houston to work for Missouri State Life. The following year he went to Denver & Seattle, again with Banker's Life.

In 1927 he joined Kardex Co. - Visible Records. That became Kardex-Rand, which became Kardex Rand Bureau, which became Remington Rand. In 1932 he was transferred to NYC and received a one year sales promotion. The following year he was transferred to Chicago, then Los Angeles, and then San Diego.

In a letter from the President of Remington Rand, dated September 7, 1927, Pat's value as an employee is made evident. "You have a right to be proud upon the magnificent showing that you made during our August Drive just closed - the most famous sales drive in all history that I or any of my friends know of."

Pat met the love of his life, Ruth Ramsey, on New Year's Eve and married her the following August 15th in 1935.

The couple worked hard and invested wisely. They relocated to Portland, OR and eventually had one son, Robert. They traveled frequently as a family, enjoying time spent camping, hiking and fishing in the mountains.

They moved to Pasadena, CA in 1942 and to San Marino in 1946. In Dec 1958 they bought their beachfront home in Leucadia, CA for $22,000. 1024 La Casa Blanca (now 1024 Neptune Ave., Encinitas).

Pat & Ruth traveled extensively after retirement. They were a happy couple and enjoyed life.

Pat was cremated and his ashes scattered at sea.
