The memoir manuscripts of Hubbard Taylor were published in the Winchester Sun, Kentucky newspaper in February 1924 under the heading of Clark County Chronicles - The Honorable Hubbard Taylor.
Hubbard notes that he was born in Caroline County, Virginia
He was the eldest son of James and Ann (Hubbard) Taylor
His sister Lucy was the oldest child of his parents James and Ann - who would have 10 children
He records that he married Clarrisa Minor on July 27th, 1782. Upon his marriage, his wife stayed with his mother in Virginia as he returned to Kentucky where he was engaged in survey work. He returned 9 months later and stayed in Virginia for about 6 years.
In 1790 he began his relocation to Kentucky with his wife and at that time, three children - Mildred, Lucy and Hubbard. They traveled with Mr. James Eubank's family whose wife was Hubbard's older sister, Lucy.
He and Clarrisa were married 58 year and raised nine children to adulthood.
