Mary S. Ogden Dies following Stroke Tuesday

Funeral Service to be Held in the Sevier Stake Tabernacle

The family of Mrs. , were shocked at her sudden death Tuesday at 5 p. m., in following a stroke at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Ogden who was at the time visiting at the home of her son, A. M. Sellers, was apparently feeling all right. During the past few weeks she had visited her son in Idaho and a daughter in Salt Lake. Monday evening she had attended a musical recital, and after arising as usual Tuesday morning she had seated

herself outside the house to peal apples. Suddenly she called to her son "Come Quick, I'm taking a stroke," but before he could reach her she had fallen from the chair. She was able to talk to the family until about eleven o'clock, when her speech became affected. Attending physicians were unable to do anything for her.

Mrs. Ogden's calm and pleasing personality, her kindly consideration of everyone with whom she came in contact, her faithfulness as a church worker and her devotion to her family won for her numerous friends wherever she made her home. She held prominent church offices in the Relief society and the Y. L. M. I. A.

Mary Marsh Sellers Ogden was born June 21, 1856, at Rumworth, near Lancashire, England. She came to Utah in 1872 with her and three sisters. In 1880 she was married to James Fisher Sellers, and ten years later moved with her family to Mexico. In 1893 her husband was killed instantly when struck by lightning, and Mrs. Sellers was left to care for her family of young children. They returned to Utah in 1912. In 1918 Mrs. Sellers was married to Thomas Ogden, and with him accomplished a great deal of work in the Salt Lake and Hawaiian temples and attended the dedication of the Mesa and Canadian temples of the L. D. S. church. They spent several winters in Ocean Park California returning to Richfield for the summer months. Shortly after they came to Richfield this spring Mrs. Ogden, whose health had failed steadily for two years, passed away July 6.

Surviving are the following children: A. M. Sellers of Richfield, James E. Sellers of Ocean Park, California, Mrs. Anne Done of salt Lake City and Jos. F. Sellers of Rexburg, Idaho.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday in the Sevier stake tabernacle.
