BUFFALO, Iowa — Services for Lewis M. Adams, Buffalo, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at the

mortuary.

Mr. Adams died Thursday, June 25, 1998, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport.

He was Mayor of Buffalo for 12 years

and City Clerk from 1962 to 1980. He served in the Army Air Corps, 468th Bomb Unit, from 1942 to 1945 in World War II.

He was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Buffalo, to Lewis M. Sr. and Anna (Nelson) Adams. He married Dorothy Marie Pagel on Feb. 19, 1944, at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6078, all of Buffalo, and Trinity Masonic Lodge, Davenport. He also was a member of Carpenter's Local 4 for 33 years and retired in 1984 from Millwright Local 2158.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or Buffalo Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ralph Stalder, Blue Grass; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Brenda Adams, Buffalo; grandchildren, Kevin Stalder, Ellsworth, Wendy Barnes, Buffalo, Gary Stalder, Mason City, Douglas Stalder, Blue Grass, Todd Adams, Buffalo, and Tara Anderson, Buffalo; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Trent and Tanner Adams, Abby and Justin Barnes, Zachary Anderson and Madeline Stalder; and sisters, Helen O'Brien, Mesa, Ariz., and Marie Rhoads, St. Joseph, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles and Thomas.
