Howard L. Fike, 80, of Amarillo died Thursday, April 26, 2012.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Danny Mize officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Our beloved Papa was born in Lillie to Aubrey Jefferson and Katie Allie Dabbs Fike. He went to school in Quail and Wellington. He met Treva Young in Wellington. They were married 59 years and 10 months, and to this union, two daughters were born, Trena and Renda.

He had an associate degree in refrigeration, air conditioning and heating from Amarillo College. He retired from Pantex in 1994 after 35 years. He recieved various award and accommodations.

Papa was an avid NASCAR fan and loved snowmobiling in Red River, N.M., and traveling. His greatest pleasure involved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, a brother and his father and mother-in-law, Tiffin and Gladys Young.

Survivors include his
wife, Treva; two daughters, Trena Burson and husband John and Renda Smith and husband Blair; five grandchildren, Shane Lee and wife Mendy, Brandon Massey and wife Chas, Ami Lynn and
husband Jackie, Krisa Bedard and husband Mark and
Katie Cantrell; eight great-grandchildren, Quin, Gentry and Grayler Massey, Aubrie, Jordin and Kilee Lynn, McKenzie and Ashton Call; two brothers, Raymond Fike and wife Shirley and Bob Fike.

The family suggests memorials be to Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, 1317 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314; or Silverton Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 250, Silverton, TX 79257.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
