Edith Josephine DeVoy, of North Bend, died July 23, 2005, in Enumclaw. She was 101. Edith was born May 3, 1904, in Clarion, Iowa to Mathias and Lottie Kooken Hansen being the oldest of their 13 children. As a young women she would help cook for the threshing crews and served as a housekeeper for several neighbors. She received her 8th grade diploma on March 24, 1921. Edith married Frank Orr on May 18, 1922 in Sanish, North Dakota. Edith & Frank had 10 children with Ilene, Hubert, Arthur, Raymond, Ellis, & Dennis proceeding her in death. The family lived in North Dakota, Montana, and finally settled in Washington. Frank passed away in 1952. Edith married Raymond DeVoy on July 19, 1957 in Skagit Co., Washington. Raymond passed away in 1969. Edith was everything a wife, mother and grandmother should be being caring, kind and loving to the end. She loved to pick out cards for her loved ones birthdays, attend family events and especially enjoyed the annual birthday party in her honor. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley Burial will be at Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton, Washington
