Ruby Mae Been born in Davis, Oklahoma November 5, 1920. The older of twin daughters born to A. L. and Nellie Lewis Been. Passed away March 15, 2003 after a long battle with osteoporosis and emphysema. Graduated high school, 1938, in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Married her high school sweetheart December 5, 1939. Ruby gave her life to Christ as a teenage girl. She served six years on the board of directors of the Oklahoma County Association for Mental Health, as well as many years in the volunteer Red Cross. She was an avid reader throughout most of her life, with a keen interest in medicine. She was preceded in death by her parents A.L. and Nellie Been, twin sister Ruby Lee Hovis and baby sister Opal, two brothers Harold and baby brother Otis. She is survived by husband Olen, two children Ginger Johnson and husband Jim of Spring, Texas, Billey Allen and Sherry Ficklin, of Oklahoma City. Five grandchildren, Stacy Ross and husband Doug, Brown Allen and wife Ann-Marie, Audomn Allen and wife Jennifer, Kathleen Wotring and husband Steve, David Johnson and wife Lei. Two great grandchildren, Spencer and Breckin Allen. Survived, also, by two brothers and one sister, The Reverend Floyd C. Been and wife Mary Ruth; Arthur Carl and wife Shirley and one sister Mildred Dancer, Odessa, Texas, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Guardian North Funeral Home, 11600 North Pennsylvania Avenue, on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverend Floyd C. Been presiding. Visitation will be Monday, March 17, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden following the funeral service. GUARDIAN NORTH 11600 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
