Benjamin married Betsey Alden of Turner in 1836. They resided on River Road in Leeds, very near Freeman's Landing.
The couple had nine children born from 1837 to 1855. Of these, three of their children died young. Their two sons, Truman and Volney never married. Their daughters Mary, Martha and Elvira married but had no surviving children. Emma had two children.
Benjamin's son Truman lived in his parents' house until his death. The house is now gone, but the cellar hole is still there.
