Born May 13, 1934 in Orleans, he was the son of Everett and Edith (Giles) Barrett. He married Sally Moat on Dec. 1, 1956, and she preceded him in death.
He was a retired utility worker and retired from Carpenter Body Works after 41 years.
He was of the Methodist faith and loved auto racing and watching his grandchildren participate in sports.
Survivors include one son, Edward Barrett and wife Kimberly of Bedford; two daughters, Cheryl Sanders and husband Kenny of Mitchell and Diane Stevens and husband Joe of Bedford; four sisters, Norma Radcliff, Ruth King and husband Ron and Kathy Condra and husband Joe, all of Paoli, and Brenda Albright and husband Jerry of French Lick; four grandchildren, Kasey Barrett Jackson, Logan Barrett, Lane Barrett and Dustin Dyer; four stepgrandchildren, Evan and Morgan Sanders, Melissa Hilkey and Jeremy Stevens; three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Jovi and Olivia Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Radcliff.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Kenny Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Orange County.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Saturday mortuary.
