BURIAL SERVICE HELD HERE FOR LATE NATIVE OF YAMHILL COUNTY
Mrs. Effie Elizabeth Brodie, 67, of Hoskins died recently and funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 13 at DeMoss-Britt Funeral home in Corvallis. Interment was the Masonic cemetery here.
Born near Newberg, May 28, 1878, Effie Elizabeth Tolson made her home in Yamhill county until her marriage to John C. Brodie at Harrington, Wash., in 1905. The couple remained there two years and then moved to Tacoma, where Brodie was associated with the Northern Pacific Railroad. In 1909 they moved to Wellsdale, which is now part of the Camp Adair site, and later moving to Albany where they lived from 1930 to 1935. Mrs. Brodie was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Brodie of Hoskins, and five brothers, George T. Tolson of Berkley, Marshall Tolson of Whiteson, Carry Tolson of Juneau, Alaska, Ward Tolson of Gaston and Roy Tolson, California.
