Sylvester Newenham first married Emma Lisenbee on 27 Feb. 1875. They had four children, Lillian, Rosa, Frederick and Manly. Emma died about 1885. He second married Lou Emma Test on 24 July 1887. They had three children, Raymond, Pansy Ruth and Gladys Mary.

Sylvester Newenham, who had been seriously ill for the past month of so, passed away Wednesday in the home of his son, Manly, south of Mt. Sterling where he had been tenderly cared for the past several years. Mr. Newenham was aged 81 years, 9 months and 10 days.
Besides his son, Manly, with whom he made his home, he leaves another son, Raymond, of North Chicago, and two daughters, Mrs. Bernard Hoelscher of near Hersman and Mrs. Vernon Massey of Dixon. His wife and a daughter, Rosie, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held this Friday, morning at ten o'clock from the home, in charge of Rev. E.O. England, Pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, and burial was made in the City cemetery.
