CLAY, the son of AMER J. and MATILDA BALES, died at the home of son NEVILLE BALES. Came at age 6 to Sullivan Co MO. 21 Nov 1881 married ANNA ELIZABETH BRUMBAUGH the daughter of JOHN and OBIGAIL BRUMBAUGH, who died 4 March 1936. 11 children born, 8 survive, ROY of Whittier CA; JACK of Denver CO; CARL of Eldora IA; BLANCHE MYERS of Allegan MI; PEARL McCARTY of Eldora IA; CECIL of Sault Saint Marie MI; EARNEST of Fairbury NE and NEVELLE of Allegan.
