Laura C Christiansen Called to Her Reward
Mrs Laura H C Christiansen passed away at her home Sunday. She has had poor health for the past two years and for nearly two months has been confined to her bed. Mrs Christiansen was born in Odensee, Denmark, July 8, 1858, and emigrated to Utah when only a child. She was married to James M Peterson in 1847 and from this union were born two sons, Jas M. Jr, and Lawrence M.
Some years later she was married to Peter Moss and from this union came two children, Ammon and Sena.
In 1899 she married George Christiansen, who, with the following children, survives: Jas M and Lawrence M Peterson, Ammon Moss and Mrs Sena Sharkey. Two sisters, Mrs Christena Nielson and Mrs N P Jorgenson, also survive.
Funeral services were held in the First ward chapel Wednesday afternoon, Bishop F M Ogden officiating. President R D Young and Judge H N Hayes were the speakers.
Music was furnished by the ward choir. Services being held while the paper goes to press, we will report them in our next issue.

Funeral Services for Mrs George Christiansen
Funeral services for Mrs. George Christiansen, who died at her home Sunday, following a lingering illness, were held Wednesday afternoon in the First Ward chapel with Bishop F M Ogden officiating.

Music was furnished by the ward choir under the direction of Mrs Josephine Christensen with Mrs Lizzie Hansen at the organ. The choir rendered the songs Beautiful Isle of Somewhere, Guide Me to Thee and Rest, Rest for the Weary Soul. A solo, Though Deepening Trial, was reverently sung by Terrah Black. The speakers, H.N. Hayes and R. D. Young offered ---onis of consolation to the bereaved and spoke of Mrs. Christiansen as one who had lived a life of quiet service.

President Young refered to her as a pioneer mother who went through the hardships incident to the redemption and building up of this commonwealth, one who had discharged the duties of life in bringing forth some splendid spirts to work out their salvation here in mortality.

The opening prayer was offered by John Christensen, Bishop H J Hansen offered the benediction. Interment was in the city cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Peter Nielson.

Jas M. Peterson, Lawrence Peterson, Ammon Moss, M. Sharkey, Ward Nielson and Martin Peterson acted as pall bearers. A profusion of beautiful and artistically arranged flowers covered the bier.

Surviving Mrs. Christiansen are her husband, George Christiansen, and the following children Jas. M Peterson, Lawrence Peterson, Ammon Moss, Mrs Sena Sharkey, Two sisters, Mrs Christena Nielson and Mrs N P Jorgenson, also survive.
