Herman married Marie D. Krohn (1877-1962) on Feb. 23, 1897 in Berlin. They raised 5 known children;

Herman died at the age of 50 years and 16 days. His cause of death was; Pneumonia then cardiac failure. Death Register #034192.
SERGEANT KRAFT PASSES AWAY
Following an illness of less than two days, Patrol Sergeant Herman Kraft of the Kitchener police force passed away suddenly on Thursday morning, April 15th, from pneumonia. Sergeant Kraft was one of the older members of the Kitchener police force, joining it in 1916. He promoted to the rank of patrol sergeant in 1923. He was in his 50th year. He was formerly employed in Listowel but moved to Kitchener in 1910, where he was engaged in the cigar business until he joined the police force. Surviving him are his wife and four children. He also leaves three sisters and one brother, viz.: Mrs. Annie Heinrich, Waterloo, Mrs. George Oakley, Kit chener, Mrs. D. K. Mason, Columbus, Ohio, and Louis Kraft, Water loo. The funeral was held on Sunday.
