THEODORE W. "TED," PICKERING 89, of Warwick, died peacefully Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Kent County Hospital with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife and children.

Born in Providence, the son of the late Beatrice Pickering, he lived in Warwick for 60 years. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines. Ted worked as an industrial photographer for BIF Industries in Providence and West Warwick until he retired in 1985. For over 40 years he was a professional wedding photographer and owner of Ted Pickering Studios. To the thousands of brides who he photographed, he was simply known as "Teddy Bear."

He leaves three sons, Thomas, Allan and Kenneth; two daughters-in-law, Jane and Lynn; and three grandchildren to whom he was devoted, Lauren, Taylor and Ryan.

His funeral will be held on Monday, April 30, at 8 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick.

Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Benedict Church in his memory would be greatly appreciated.
