Thomas Carson was born 1861-2 to Charles Carson and Elizabeth Parker at Middleton by Youlgreave Wirksworth. He was the tenth of twelve children.
In December of 1885 he married Anne Fox. They were the parents of six children born in Ballidon, Winster, Derbyshire, England. The children are: Albert Fox born 29 June 1886, Thomas William born 25 Nov. 1887, Annie Elizabeth born 21 June 1889, Wilmont born 13 Nov. 1891, Kate born 30 Mar. 1893, Lucy born 15 July 1895.
Thomas's wife Anne died April 4, 1898 in Youlgreave and is buried in the Youlgreave Church Cemetery. She obviously left Thomas with young children to care for.
In June of 1900 Thomas married Hannah Mellor in Ashborne, Derbyshire, England. Thomas and Hannah had the following children: Margaret born July 1900 in Middleton, Derbyshire; John Edward born Nov. 1901 in Middleton; Dora born Aug. 1903 in Middleton; and Joseph born Sept. 20, 1905 in Middleton.
Thomas died September 18, 1913 of causes unknown. He was only 52 years old.
Thomas and his first wife Anne were buried with the same headstone with the following inscription on the stone:
In loving memory of Annie, the beloved wife
of Thomas Carson of Pike Hall who died April
4th 1898 aged 40 years. Blessed are the dead
who died in the Lord. Also Thomas Carson
the above named of Oldham Farm who died Sept.18,1913.
Aged 52 years.
Thomas was obviously a farmer of some kind and had a large family who he likely supported very well since they are listed in the 1891 census of Ballidon, 1901 census of Middleton, and the 1911 census of Middleton, Derbyshire, England.
I have great respect for this 4th cousin who was well loved by family and friends.
