Grandmother Ines, a Cherokee name (Inez) Cornelison Graves, mixed "English and Scotch and Irish and Cherokee" heritage.
When she was younger, she had straight black hair with her dark eyes. Her first daughter had red-brownish hair with hazel eyes, the middle daughter was like her, Black hair, dark eyes. Her last daughter had red-brownish hair and grey-blue eyes. Grandmother loved being who she was, especially the part of her that was Cherokee. Note: There are camera lighting shadows around the nose of her face, it is a smaller nose.

Grandmother raised her dominecker hens and chicks. This breed of hen is indigenous, originated American, documented as early as 1750, but was probably very much earlier and a hardy gentle hen that lays many brown eggs a year. This hen supplied meat, eggs and feathers for wonderful warm featherbed mattresses. This hen was here when the Pilgrims came. It has a large rose comb. Her mother Margarett Lue, (a Cherokee name) Mauldin Cornelison taught grandmother many home domestic skills. Grandmother loved the river cane on the riverbanks and the sweet smell of the honeysuckle vine, her mother's family and her mother's grandfather's family weaved baskets from these natural growing provisions.
