Lensford Alan "Buddy" Crews, Jr., 63 died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his residence after an extended illness.

The Wayne County, Ga. native was a Christian, owner of Buddy Termite and Pest Control, Inc. of Jesup, Ga. and was a U.S. Army 173rd Airborne Infantry Veteran that received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in Vietnam. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, his land, dancing and visiting with friends from everywhere.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lensford Alan and Chiquita Echols Crews Simmons and his step-father, Jack Simmons.

Survivors are 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Lensford Alan "Len" Crews, III and wife, Chelsi Lee Crews, Eric Lee Crews, both of Jesup, Ga.; 3 sisters, Debbie Fitts, Rachel Simmons, Brenda Jarred, all of Varnville, S.C.; 2 brothers, Jack Simmons,Jr. of Hardeeville, S.C., Darwin Crews, of Barnwell, S.C.; an ex-wife and friend, Karen Crews of Ludowici, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with the American Legion Post 311's presentation of the U.S. Flag.

Interment will be in High Bluff Cemetery in Hoboken, Ga. Active pallbearers will be his family.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, April 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
