Hyndman Lumberman died in Hospital yesterday of Multiple injuries
Pa State Police are continuing an investigation into the death of Roy Kennell, 56 ,Route 1 Hyndman, PA. Kennell was admitted to the hospital yesterday at 11:20 am after State Police said he was apparently run over by a truck about midnight Wednesday.
Dr. H. V. Deming, deputy county medical examiner, who ordered an autopsy, said Kennell died of a cerebral contusion and shock and listed other injuries as fractures of the public bone, the left hip, a left rib, the left knee and a 2 inch scalp wound.
Dr. Deming said from reports he has received, Kennell was killed in a mountain district and trouble was encountered in bringing the body to a physician in Hyndman.
Police said Jesse Kennell told them he was unaware of his cousin's injuries until he failed to report for work yesterday morning at a sawmill near their home.
Kennell, a native of Wellersburg and son of the late William and Effie (Lepley) Kennell, is survived by his widow, the former Naomi Emerick, 11 children, Idella, Washington; Mrs. Emma Bittner, Hyndman, Mrs. Ruth Imler, Ellerslie; John Kennell, with the Army on Okinawa, and Marian, Gerald, Frances and Stanley all at home; 4 sisters; Mrs. Pearl Emerick and Mrs. Clara Kennell, both of Hyndman, and Mrs. Jennie Weimer and Mrs. Viola Getz, both of Wellersburg, and 6 brothers, Albert, Wellersburg, and Guy, Robert , John, James and Clinton, all of Hyndman.
He was a member of Cumberland Aerie 245, Fraternal Order of Eagles.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:320pm at Comps. Rev. Carl H. Clapp, pastor of St. Mark's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Cumberland, will officiate and interment will be in Comps. The body is at the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman
