I knew Pete through my husband who worked at the VAMC in Salt Lake City. He liked Pete not just because of his antics but also becuase Pete was a genuinely nice person with lots of charisma.
Pete was in and out of many Utah hospitals, (including the VAMC because he was a veteran) because the police just did not know where to put him when his demons acted up. He was not a criminal, they really liked him, and wanted a safe place for him.
He chose the name "WORM" (which means: World Order of Righteous Mankind) and at one time had it tattooed on his forehead. He also wanted to change his legal name. Sometimes he would wear a red cape and cap as a devil image to remind everyone that we all had a dark side in us. Even in his troubles he made a very good point!
I met Pete once at the VA-he was very charming and gracious. I can really understand why people liked him so very much.
