Maria (Adami) Amacker was born in November 1842 in Frankfort, Germany, the daughter of Jacob and Catherine Adami. Her first husband was William McLean, the proprietor of the Overland Hotel in Helena. Maria was one of the first women to come to Helena. William and Maria [also called Mary] had four children, Fredrick, Charles, Susanna, and Louisa. William died in 1882. She married her second husband, John Jacob Amacker in 1883, and they had one son Albert, and a daughter Amelia. On January 7, 1904, at age 61, she died after an illness of six weeks from carcinoma of the pancreas. Her funeral took place from the family residence on Peosta Avenue. Rev. W. W. Love, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church conducted the services. Her husband, John survived her and five of her children, Mrs. Louisa (J. L.) Kuntz of Helena, Mrs. Susanna (George) Huffaker of Helena, Fred McLean of Alamo, Mexico, Charles McLean of Oregon and Albert Amacker. (Anaconda Standard, 1/8/1904)

She is buried between her first husband William McLean and her second husband John Amacker, in Section B, Row 7. Her stone is inscribed "Mary McLean 1844-1905" and a footstone is inscribed "Mother."
