Obituary of A. M. Van Wyk Late of Orange City, Iowa

Arie M. Van Wyk was born October 22, 1882, at Newkirk and passed away October 8, 1946.

He was united in marriage to Jennie Vander Wilt in March 1905, and to this union eleven children were born, four of whom died in infancy and one Greta (Mrs. Edward Veld) preceded him in death on March 12, 1946.

Surviving are his widow, Jennie van Wyk, and six children, Mitchell Van Wyk, John Van Wyk, Gilbert van Wyk, Sophia (Mrs. Marion De Graaf), Irene (Mrs. Rodney Vellinga), and Leola (.Mrs. Eugene Te Grotenhuis). There are 12 grandchildren. One brother. L. W. Van Wyk of Glendale, California, and four sisters, Grace Oelrich, Nellie Vos, Sarah Van Wyk, and Johanna De Koster, all of Hull.

One brother. J. M. Van Wyk, preceded him in death.

The deceased lived all except the first and last four years of his life on his farm five miles north and a mile east of Orange City. He was a respected citizen and businessman and a confessing member of the First Reformed Church of Orange City.
