Dorothy I. Adams, age 89, a resident of Truth or Consequences, NM, passed away on April 12, 2012.
Dorothy was born to Robert and Mae Hamilton Gray on March 3, 1923 in Donnybrook, ND.
Dorothy graduated from Donnybrook High School in 1940 where she excelled in music. Dorothy attended college at Minot, ND and married Wade B. Adams on September 19, 1942. They resided in Steele, ND for many years where she worked with her husband in the family business until 1974. They spent winters in New Mexico and moved to Truth or Consequences, NM in December of 1980 where she resided until her death.
Dorothy enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, golfing, baking and singing. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Truth or Consequences and was a vocalist at many church functions. Survivors include her daughters, Patti Moch of Steele, ND and Mary (Lonny) Adler of Truth or Consequences, NM; and her son, Tom (Pam) Adams of Mandan, ND, her sister, Evelyn Adams of Steele, NDl her sisters-in-law, Grace (Al) Hanson of Fosston, MN, JoEllen (Roy) Aichele of Steele, ND and Elda Adams of Steele, ND, her brother-in-law, Tom (Sally) Adams of Dickinson, ND, seven grandchildren, Daniel Moch, Stacy Adams, Dustin Moch, Russell Adams, Jeromy Adler, Tammy Adams and Luke Adams, three great-grandchildren, Josh and Devin Moch and Anthony Adams and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Wade Adams, her parents, her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Michelle Adams, her son-in-law, Lance Moch, her sisters, Leola Dettloff and Lucille Gray and grandchild, Teri Moch.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sierra Health Care Center, where she had been a resident, officiated by Mr. Joe McDonald. Funeral Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Steele, ND at a later date followed by burial in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND.
