Born Dec. 1, 1889, in Gibson County, Tenn. he married Miss Lular Bell Foster Jan. 19, 1909. She preceded him in death Dec. 9, 1972.
Mr. Barksdale moved to Dogwood in 1941 where he was a farmer until his retirement in 1971, he moved to Cape Girardeau where he lived with his daughter. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Thelma Treece, Mrs. Marie Mehner, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) James and Mrs. James (Nina) Phillips; sons, James, Bill and Richard Barksdale; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Burial will be in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
