Terrie Ann Henderson

Terrie Ann Henderson, 53, of Grants Pass died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at her home.

Henderson was born Nov. 5, 1955, in Inglewood, Calif. While attending Mission Bay High School in San Diego, she was active in the band and was an honor student. She graduated in 1973 and attended San Diego State University. In 1978, she moved to Grants Pass and studied music at Southern Oregon University. She was a private music teacher and the music director at New Hope Christian School.

Throughout her life, she was involved in many performing music groups, including the San Diego Youth Symphony, the Rogue Valley Symphony, for which she played French horn, Jefferson Baroque Orchestra, the Alphorn Quartet, the Ashland City Band and Rogue Valley Opera. She also performed at Oktoberfest in Wolf Creek and in Rogue Community College plays.

She was a jewelry designer and crocheted gold and silver wire to make custom jewelry and also taught jewelry making. She and her jewelry were featured in several Fire Mountain Gems advertisements. She enjoyed gardening, decorating and animals, especially her dogs and the ones she rescued.

Survivors include two sons, James Henderson of Central Point, and Thomas Henderson of Grants Pass; her parents, Norman and Janeene Uthus of Grants Pass; and a grandson.
