A Grand Ol' Man, AKA "The One-Armed Bandit" returned home Saturday, April 14, 2012. Lynn W. Dangel was born on April 26, 1943 in Whittier, California to Walter William and Mildred Irene Cole Dangel. He grew up in California, spending every summer with his sister on their grandparent's family farm in West Layton, Utah. Although they knew each other through family and friends, Lynn and Sherry began dating when Lynn moved to West Layton after completing school in California. They married June 21, 1969 and were sealed for time and eternity on November 6, 2010 in the Ogden Utah LDS Temple.

Lynn and Sherry raised six children while residing on the family farm in West Layton. Lynn was an avid collector with a love for cars, guns, and other antiquities. Lynn worked for Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 2007 after forty years of service. After his retirement Lynn and Sherry relocated to Tremonton, Utah for the open fields and country living, reminding them of the good ol' days in West Layton. They were welcomed, with open arms, into the Tremonton 3rd Ward.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Sherry, sister Katie Dangel Clinger, Highland; children Jonathan (Erika) Dangel, Syracuse; Brian (Christa) Dangel, Clearfield; Lynda (Layne) Petty, Tremonton; Michael (Tammy) Dangel, Roy; Amanda Dangel (Steve) Averett, Clearfield; and William "Billy Bob" Dangel, Layton; 13 grandchildren: Kristian, Madison, Jacob, Lexy, Langston, Harley, Alexander, Wyatt, Bailey, Dillon, Cutler, Nicole, and Katelynn, as well as his loving mother-in-law, Marie Talbot DenButter; two sisters-in-law, Connie Talbot Johnson (David), and Kathryn Talbot Huff (Dennis), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Alan Clinger.

He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Tremonton 3rd Ward Chapel, 9590 North 6800 West. Friends may visit family Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. and on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
