Clyde W. Lafont,79, of Barton died June 3 2007 in Newport.
He was born July 2,1927 in South Albany,Vt. a son of Orrin and Mary (Kenneson) Lafont.On March 7,1954 he married Grace Thornton who survives him. Clyde was employed by Ethan Allen Manufacturing in Orleans where he retired on June 30 2994. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Barton American Legion Post #76 and the West Glover Congregational Church.
He is survived by his wife; Grace Lafont of Barton, and by the following children: Elaine Wright and her husband Mark of West Glover, Wayne Lafont and his wife Lisa of Irasburg, Dean Lafont and his friend Jill Tucker of Fairfax, Doreen Brown and her husband Keith of Alburg; and by the following granddaughters: Christina, Amy, Erica, Andrea; and by grandsons: Peter and Matthew: and also 8 great-grandchildren. He is survived by a brother Glen Lafont and his wife Beverly of West Glover,and by seversl nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Avis Ricard.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Wed. June 6, 2007 at the Westlook Cemetery in Glover with the Rev. Evelyn Coupe officiating. Full military honor will be held.
