MARY GRAFF MARRIED
The marriage of Miss Mary Graff, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John P. Graff of Tecumseh, to Nelson E. Beckwith of Beatrice, took place last Thursday afternoon at the home of the bride's parents. Rev. W. H. Wright of the Methodist church at Tecumseh, read the marriage lines in the presence of seventy guests, including relatives and close friends.
A profusion of garden flowers made an attractive setting for the ceremony, which took place under an improvised arch. Preceding the ceremony, Charles A. Dafoe sang, "All for You," and during the ceremony Bernard F. Nevin played on the violin Lieberstraum's "Dream of Love," accompanied by Mrs. H. F. Carr of Philadelphia. The bride wore an ivory chiffon gown. Her attendants were her sister, Kathryn, who wore flowered chiffon, and little Mary Elizabeth Dafoe and Bobby Carr, who carried baskets of rose petals. The groom was attended by George Yaeger of Omaha.
Following the ceremony the guests were invited into the dining room by Mrs. C. W. Graff. The dining room was in charge of Mrs. C. A. Dafoe, assisted by Miss Helen Wood, Miss Hazel Crim, Mrs. John M. Aikman and Miss Mildred Graff. Mrs. Harlan K. Peckham had charge of the guest book and Mrs. Al. N. Dafoe the gift room.
The bride is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan university, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Since her graduation she has been a teacher in the Ashland and Fremont public schools.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Beckwith of Beatrice and is a graduate of the college of pharmacy University of Nebraska, where he is affiliated with Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Mr. & Mrs. Beckwith will be at home to their friends in Ashland after August 1.
