Tout, born Oct. 10, 1920 in Cedar Vale, KS, to Dr. Frank and Geneva Tout, passed away Apr. 19, 2011, following a lengthy battle with heart disease. Survived by his wife, Barbara; sister, Eloise Annesley; brother, Dr. Robert C. and wife Garalyn Tout of Manhattan, KS; children, Shannon T. Warren and companion, Kelly Wolfe of Houston, James R. Tout, James (Jimbo) Tout of Round Rock; and stepdaughters, Misty Sharp of C. C., TX, Lindi Bethel of Austin; four grand and four great-grandchildren. He graduated from West Texas State College, in Canyon. Cdr. Tout was commissioned and designated Naval Aviator at USNAS - C C, 11/42; served as Landing Signal Officer aboard USS CV6 Enterprise '43-'45; participated in 11 major battle engagements; his nine US Navy medals include the Bronze Star. Cdr. Tout served as CO of VT 27 New Iberia, LA and his squadron was commended by Chief of Naval Air Advanced Training for having flown 50,000 accident free flight hours. He ended his military career on Mar. 5, 1969, as ExO of USNAS, Kingsville, TX. Cdr. Tout enjoyed golf, UT sports and was a member of Leander Presbyterian Church since Nov. 15, 1982.
