Lewis Clark Brunson, 97, of Idaho Falls, formerly of Rexburg, died Tuesday June 8, 2004, at his home of natural causes. He was born August 5, 1906 at Wilmont, Utah, to Peter Lorenzo and Altana Clarinda McCullough. He attended school in Fillmore, Utah, through the ninth grade. Growing up he helped on the family farm and in the family monument business. At the age of 16, he started an electrical correspondence course and started Brunson Electric in 1926. He went through some lean times during the Depression but was always able to find a little work. He married Rebecca Munns on April 13, 1927, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in several places in Utah and then came to Rexburg in 1938. She died May 21, 2001. He loved to fish, hunt, and was a member of the Snake River Boat club. He served as Republican precinct committeeman for 15 years. He was a member of the LDS Church. He loved and served his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Stephen (Jeanne) Brunson of Idaho Falls, Harry (Joan) Brunson of Rexburg, Elaine Muir of Idaho Falls and Terry (Marva) Brunson of Rexburg; a brother, Max (Alta Beth) Brunson of Logan, Utah; 14 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife parents, three brothers and six sisters.
