CHICOPEE- Shirley D. (Carpenter) Bergeron, 63, of 11 McCarthy Ave., in the Fairview section, died Sunday at home. She was a warehouse person at Spalding Sports Worldwide in Willimansett and retired in 1977. Born in this city, she attended St. Rose de Lima Church, and was a lifelong resident. Her husband, Edward A. Bergeron died in 1992. She leaves three sons, Edward A. III of Howell, Mich., William F. and Robert E., both of Chicopee; a daughter, Susan L. Roberts of Chicopee; three brothers, Robert R. Carpenter of Springfield, and Roger D. Carpenter and Rudolph O. Carpenter, both of Chicopee; three sisters, Rita L. Roda of Springfield, and Mary H. Peltier and Donna A. Fontaine, both of Chicopee; and 15 grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday from the Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home, and in the church, with burial in St. Rose Cemetery in the Aldenville section.
