Wright Nicholson Moore was a son of James Anderson Moore and Rebecca Nicholson Moore. He was born about two miles from what is now Epworth. He had a full brother, William Moore, and a sister, Mary Anna Moore. He had a half brother, the late Capt Wiley Holloway and half sisters, Martha A and Susan H Holloway.

He married Susan Elizabeth Durrett and their children were:
1) James P Moore who married Etheland Brooks in Greenville. She was a daughter of Capt John Wesley Brooks who built Scotch Cross House.
2) Susan C Moore who married James W Hill in Greenville. Mrs Hill divides her time with her children here.
3) Thomas L Moore married Emma Pool and, after her death, married her sister, Mrs E E McCants in Abbeville County.
4) Louis M Moore married Emma Lipscomb in Abbeville County. Mr Moore is known and esteemed all over Greenwood County. He was Postmaster at Greenwood for years and years and a good one. He is now making his home at Ninety Six.
5) Mary E Moore married Edwin M Lipscomb at what is now Epworth. Mrs Lipscomb, a most estimable Christian lady, died a few years ago. Her husband and children live at Ninety Six now.
