Mrs. Burgy (Margaret Geiger) was born in Germany in 1843 and came with her parents to America at the age of 12 years. They located at Buffalo and joined the Amana Society and when that organization moved to Iowa she became a resident of Amana. In 1866 she and Henry were married and severed their connection with the colonists.
