Ronnie Dean Dorsett, 49, of Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at his residence.
He was born on March 31, 1963 in Forsyth County, to Edgar Richard and Syble Smithey Dorsett of Mooresville. Ronnie was a graduate from Ledford High School Class of 1981. He was a former mechanic with US Airways for 18 years and recently an insurance agent with MSIS Insurance Company. He coached BAYAA girls volleyball and flag football.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Edgar Dorsett and Monroe Smithey.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Carolwayne Pennington Dorsett; children, Aspyn and Bryce Dorsett both of the home; brother, Richard "Rick" Dorsett of Lewisville, NC; grandmother, Lois Dorsett of Winston-Salem; aunts, Edith Holder of East Bend, Estelle Waldrup and husband, Bill of Elkin; uncles, Kenneth Dorsett and wife, Rhonda of Walnut Cove, Bill Smithey and wife, Therisa of Wilkesboro; niece, Heather Orozco; nephew, Josh Dorsett both of Lewisville; and his best buddy, his Golden Retriever Maui.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 26 at Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Ireland officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 PM with the casket open and from 6:30-8:30 PM with the casket closed.
