Inscription: "This monument is erected to the Memory of Rev. John Taylor son of the Hon. Eldad Taylor of Westfield, Mass. and Grandson of Rev. Edward Taylor, first Minister of the same place. Loving our Lord Jesus Christ he preached His Gospel faithfully for half a century according to the doctrine, discipline, and order of Christ and His apostles as Practised by his Pious Puritan N.E. ancestors and fell asleep Dec. 21, 1840, Aged 78 yrs."
