Mrs. Martha B. Weidner, 76, of 2402 Portsmouth Ave., a former dramatic arts teacher, died Sunday in Spencer Manor Nursing Home after a two year illness. Born in West Unity, Ohio, Mrs. Weidner lived in Montpelier, Ohio for 31 years before moving to Toledo in 1946. She was a dramatic arts teacher in her own art school in Montpelier for 12 years. Following that, she was a sales lady in the better dress department of Lamson's for 18 years, retiring 6 years ago.
Mrs. Weidner was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Lamson's Retiree Club, the Lucas County Republican Club, and the Notre Dame Educational League.
Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Gretchen Alain, of Toledo, and Mrs. Rachel Schoonover of Harper Woods, Mich; sons, Jack, of Dearborn, Mich; Jack of Portsmouth, N.H., and Robert of Fostoria, O.; 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Blanchard Mortuary, with burial in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity. The body will be in the mortuary after 7 tonight.
The family requests that any tributes be in the form of contributions to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church building fund.
