Linita Jo "Jodie" Roden, 65, of Burlington, Colorado, formerly of Milburn, OK, was taken from us on Sunday, April 15, 2012 in an automobile accident in Stratton, Colorado. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Connerville Cemetery in Connerville, OK. Officiating will be the Rev. James Neil Alford of the Connerville First Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at a later date, to be announced, for friends in the Burlington, CO area. Jodie was born December 13, 1946 in Ada, OK to Floyd "Shortie" Evans and Doreen Harper-Evans. She was raised in Ada, OK, and attended the Ada Public Schools. She received her GED and went on to train and work as an electronics technician in Tulsa. In the late 1980's, the family moved to Houston, TX, where she was a homemaker. In the mid-1990's they moved to the Milburn/Connerville area where she became a member of the Connerville First Baptist Church. She moved to Burlington in November 2010. Jodie married Fred C. Roden, Jr. on May 4, 1964 at Morris Memorial Baptist Church in Latta, OK. Together, for 46 years, they raised their family and served their community. Fred passed away on August 18, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; parents, Floyd and Doreen Evans; one daughter, Laurie Roden; and one sister, Norma Stanley. Survivors include: one son, Rodney Roden, Guthrie, OK; two daughters, Julie Roden, Vinita, OK, and Tonya Strothman, Burlington, CO; one sister, Shirley Evans-Rodgers, Orange County, CA; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews whom she loved. Honorary pall bearers are Rodney Roden, John Strothman, Tim Stanley, and Benjamin Calkum.
