In Tipton County, Indiana "Her Land and People" lists Betsy Owens as the wife of Wren Grayson and the mother of eight children. Her son Joseph's death certificate lists her name as Matilda Owens. Her son John Wren Grayson in his obituary states his mothers maiden name was Betsy Owens. In the 1850 Sandcreek, Decatur, Indiana census she is listed as Rebecca, wife of Wren.
Matilda Rebecca "Betsy" Owens married Wren Grayson in 1804 in Farm, Scott County, Kentucky. They had eight known children.
