Abraham Van Orman.
Abraham Van Orman, a Civil War veteran, aged 65 years, died Saturday at midnight at the family residence on the Inlet road after a protracted illness. He was born in Stroudsburg, Pa., and had lived in this neighborhood for 60 years. He served in the war in Company A, Ninth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry. He is survived by one son, Mott; one brother, Jeremiah, and one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Walker, all of Ithaca. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the late residence, Rev. D.D. King, officiating. The remains will be interred temporarily in the city vault and burial will be made later in Fisher's cemetery.
