Dee was born November 20, 1938, in Logan, Utah, to George Vernon Hulse and Illa Annie Elwood Hulse. She grew up in Logan and Blackfoot and attended schools there.
She married Dean Benson Anderson and raised his two children, DeAnna and Dean, Jr. They also adopted a baby boy, Adam Jay Hulse. They were later divorced. She married Everett Edward "Muggs" Stroud on November 17, 1972, in Salmon, Idaho. He preceded her in death June 21, 1989.
DeAnna was a wife, mother, and homemaker, and worked as a cook and waitress at Railroad Tavern, Silver Dollar, and Sage Brush Café. Dee lived in Leadore from 1972 to 2002. She served on the City Council of Leadore and also served as President of the Council.
Dee was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, hunting and fishing, and especially loved spending time with her grandkids.
DeAnna is survived by her son, Jay (Roberta) Hulse, of Leadore; brothers: George Wendell (Afton) Hulse, of Blackfoot, Grant L. (Marsha) Hulse, of Ammon, and Ronald J. (Charie) Hulse, of Idaho Falls; sisters: LuDean Carey, of WA, and Shirley (Keith) Wadsworth, of Terreton; stepsons: Steve Stroud, of Dubois, and Randy Stroud, of Leadore; stepdaughter, Brenda Stroud, of Boise; four grandchildren: Dillon, Melissa and Brooke Hulse, and Tanner Stroud.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers: Sheldon Vernon Hulse, Ralph Elwood Hulse and Donald Dee Hulse.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Leadore LDS Church, 118 North 3rd Street, with Bishop Shane Matson officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Leadore Cemetery.
