DEATH OF MRS. W. D. HOYT
Mrs. Clara B. Hoyt, wife of Wm. D. Hoyt, died at her home in this city Thursday, March 21, at 2:15 a.m., aged 67 years, 11 months and 17 days.
Mrs. Hoyt has not been well for the past two years, but on last Saturday she was taken down suddenly, and continued to grow worse until her death. She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church and during her long residence in Larned has made many friends. She served as a nurse during the Civil War.
She leaves her husband and one son, Wm. Hoyt, of Arkansas City, who is expected to arrive tonight. The funeral will be held from the Presbyterian church tomorrow, Friday, at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Robt. Coltman will have charge of the services.

Miss Clara B. Prindle was first married to Benjamin Clark on 14 Aug 1862 in Russia, NY.
Benjamin Clark had enlisted into the Union Army on 11 Aug 1862. He mustered into service as a Private with Co. B, 1st United States Sharp Shooters (USSS) on 26 Sep 1862.
During his service he died at camp near Falmouth, Virginia of typhoid fever. Burial details are not known. After the war she married William Dibble Hoyt on 2 July 1865 at Newport, New York.

Obituary of Mrs. W. D. Hoyt
The funeral of Mrs. W. D. Hoyt, whose sudden death at her home in this city Wednesday night of last week was announced in the last issue of this paper, occurred at the Presbyterian church last Friday afternoon, Rev. Dr. Coltman officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Larned cemetery.
Miss Clara B Rindle was born in Gravesville, Herkimer County, New York, April 4, 1839. She commenced teaching school at the age of fifteen and taught continuously until she enlisted as an army nurse under Major General Miss Dorothea Dix. She served a short time in Columbia hospital, Washington, D.C., and was then sent to the front to Point Rocks, VA., and served to the end of the war, eight months in all, when she received an honorable discharge. For this service she was pensioned by the national government.
She was married to Wm. D. Hoyt July 2, 1865, at Newport, New York, and was the mother of three girls and two boys. Only one son, the oldest, survives her, together with her husband. Her death came so sudden that only her husband was at her bedside when she passed away.
