Phillip D. Hicks, 69, of LeRaysville, Pa., passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Memorial Hospital in Towanda, Pa.
Phillip resided in LeRaysville with his sister, Andrea Jane Hicks Sanders, 67, who recently passed away at Memorial Hospital on March 4, 2011. Phillip and Andrea had been in declining health for several years and provided care for each other in their home. Life-long residents of Pike Township, Phillip was born at home on Jan. 19, 1942 and Andrea was also born at home on May 27, 1943, the children of the late G. Harold Hicks and Rachel Irene Brink Hicks. Phillip enjoyed collecting match boxes and watching John Wayne movies. Andrea enjoyed genealogy, historical romance novels and Harry Potter memorabilia.
Phillip and Andrea are survived by their sisters, Joyce L. Hicks Sharer and husband Howard of Stevensville, Pa., Frances E. Hicks Martin of Arizona; and brother, Elbert E. Hicks and wife Carol of Richmond, Va.; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Pamela J. Lantz Beebe of Towanda; close friends, Ron and Doris Brown of LeRaysville.
In addition to their parents they were preceded in death by sisters, Carol M. Hicks Lantz and Patricia Ann Hicks. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, Towanda, Pa.
