Son of William Lee & Manervia Isabell Bybee Gore.
Served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was a member of the Jouett Henry Chapter #8 of the Disabled American Veterans in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

He was also a "Gold Star Father." His son, Benjamin, died at Tarawa in 1943. His remains were identified and returned to Hopkinsville to be interred at Riverside in 2016.
