Services for Arliss P. Travers, 75, of Lansdale Rd., East Syracuse, who died Sunday, February 23, were held Tuesday, at Delaney & Greabell Funeral Home, East Syracuse. Burial was in Assumption Cemetery. Mr. Travers was a life resident of East Syracuse and served as Democratic Town Chairman in Dewitt during the mid 1950's and early 1960's. He was a stock clerk for Wells and Coverly Co., retiring in 1975. Mr. Travers was a member of St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, and was a member of the 5th Army Association.
Surviving are his daughter, Patricia Davis of East Syracuse; 6 sisters, Mable Chifton and Doris Steiner, both of Syracuse, Arlene O'Connor of Alfred, Erma Davidson of Minoa, Sister Edwardine of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Scranton, PA, and Dorothy Halley of Buffalo; 2 grandchildren, Tammy and John Cullen, both of East Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews.
