Minnie was born in Klöstitz, Akkerman, Bessarabia, Russia--a region now part of Moldova and Ukraine. She came to the United States in 1896, joining other German-Russians in this community. She and her husband raised a large family. Funeral services were at Peace Lutheran Church--she was the oldest living charter member of the church at the time of her death.
