Mrs. Friedrich Kreft, 81, of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, died Monday morning at the
home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Balge, of Rt. 1,
Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. The Rev. A.T. Degner will officiate and
burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Delta, Colo.
Mrs. Kreft, nee Frieda Puellmann, was born Jan. 14, 1886, in Wunstdorf,
Germany, daughter of the late Friedrich and Sofie Torney Puellmann. She
was married to Mr. Kreft May 2, 1911, at Wunstdorf and the couple came
to Manitowoc in 1923. He preceded her in death in 1962.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Balge and Mrs. Elisabeth Phekan, of
West Allis, a brother, Hans, of Paonia, Colo., nine grandchildren and three
great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after
5 p.m. Wednesday until 9:45 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to
the church. Memorials may be made to the Manitowoc Lutheran High
School building fund.
