EAST CHICAGO, IN

Glen A. Comanse, age 79 of East Chicago, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012 at home.
Glen is survived by seven sons: Glen M., Richard, Michael, Donald (Violet), Ronald, James (late Rosemary), and David (Linda); 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; two brothers: Robert (Todd) and Wayne (Carol); two sisters, Betty Mize and Thelda Lashley; aunt, Evelyn (Joe) Lenkey; lifelong friends: Jack and Sharon Yelenich; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by wife, Marylou; parents: Eli and Thelda; sisters: Peggy, Margie, and Dolores; brothers: Harold and Roland; and granddaughter, Nicole.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the FIFE FUNERAL HOME, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, IN and 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, East Chicago with Rev. Stephen Gibson officiating. Burial at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
Visitation will be Monday, April 23 , 2012 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at FIFE FUNERAL HOME. Prayer service 6:00 p.m.. The American Legion will post colors at 7:00 p.m. Monday.
Glen was a retired ironworker for Union Local #395 for 35 years, a Korean War U.S. Army veteran recipient of two Bronze Stars, and a member of American Legion Allied Post #369.
Glen was loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed.
