Gertrude I. (McMyne) Barker, 75, of Binghamton, passed away Saturday morning, September 13, 2003, at the home of her son, Brian. She was predeceased by her parents, James Wallace and Charlotte McMyne; husband, James W. Barker; brothers, Carvil McMyne, George MacMyne, Maurice McMyne. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Patty Barker, Endwell; one daughter, Pamela Barker-Jones and son-in-law, William Jones, Cromwell, Conn.; three grandchildren, Rachael, Charlotte and Russell Jones, all of Cromwell, Conn.; two sisters, Helen Sprague, Vestal, Mildred Phillips, Johnson City; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; one aunt, Barbara Holley, Pa.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of Centenary Chenango St. United Methodist Church, Binghamton. She was born in Benton Township, Pa., and moved to Binghamton with her family as a teenager. She attended Binghamton Central High School and went on to work at Link Aviation. She married James W. Barker in 1957. She spent her life as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Wednesday, at 10 a.m. The Rev. David A. Rockwell will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
