Verla Watkins Holindrake Hancock passed away April 18, 2012 at La Posada, Mesilla Valley Hospice, Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born June 26, 1925 in Lehi, Utah to Joseph William and Ethel Ross Watkins. She was the youngest of four siblings and was much loved.

She married Harold W. Holindrake on June 10, 1944 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. He died January 20, 1979. She then married Elvin L. Hancock in 1980. He died January 9, 2000.

Our mom loved traveling, dancing, shopping, decorating her lovely homes, colorful clothing, fun jewelry, the Book of Mormon and her dog. She was always beautiful whatever the occasion. We loved her dearly and will miss her always.

Mom is survived by her four children, Judy (Tim) Allred of West Linn, Oregon; Diane (Ron) Benson of Las Cruces; New Mexico; Harold Holindrake of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and Val (Amy) Holindrake of Mesa, Arizona. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Jonathan, Heather, Amanda, Heidi, Celeste, Tiffany, Susannah, Dustin, Ryan and Jennifer, 28 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Doris Bird. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her siblings, Elsie Monson, Ross Watkins and Val Watkins and her granddaughter, Carmen Holindrake.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grandview 15th Ward, 1122 North Grand Avenue, Provo, Utah. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, and Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the American Fork City Cemetery.
