PAUL COENEN DIES AT SOLDIER'S HOME
Veteran of World War Succumbs On Tuesday
Paul Coenen, 37, World War veteran, died at eh National Soldiers Home, Milwaukee, Tuesday morning of a lingering illness. He was gassed while serving during the war and never fully recovered from the effects.
Coenen was a member of Sullivan post, American Legion. He enlisted in the 26th division and served for nine months overseas. Military rites will be held at the funeral which will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from SS. Peter and Paul's church, with burial in Allouez.
Surviving Mr. Coenen are his wife, Margaret, and two children, Paul, Jr., 9, Genevieve, 4, of Green Bay; also six sisters, Sr. Pelegrin, Chicago; Mrs. Martin Hendricks, Wrightstown; Mrs. Joseph Van Den Heuvel, town of Lawrence; Mrs. Henry Alberts, Rockland; Mrs. Martin Vissers and Mrs. Theodore Cornelisen, E. De Pere, and three brothers, Frank, Greenleaf; Henry, De Pere and Leonard, Wrightstown. He also leaves three step-sisters, Mrs. George Kersten, Neenah; Mrs. Henry Mickhals, Oneida, and Mrs. Teenie Kenne, Portland, Ore.
The body is at the home of Mrs. Coenen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Netols, 1890 Willow St., where it will remain until the funeral.
